Poor, naive Ryan isn’t really doing himself any favours at the moment in Coronation Street. Having been duped by wicked Daisy into believing that he cheated on Alya with her, he found himself unceremoniously dumped, and then thrown out of his home!
Things are set to get worse after Daisy starts to lose interest when she spots a much better prospect. But as Corrie star Ryan Prescott tells us, his character remains blissfully ignorant to his new girlfriend’s manipulative ways…
How is Ryan feeling about his split from Alya?
He’s devastated. They’d been together two years, and I think he saw them going the long-haul. But he’s not really dealing with it, which is a typical Ryan move. He’s covering his feelings of loss and grief by moving on to something new, and putting a band aid over it.
So would you say that he and Daisy are officially an item now?
Yes, after being slightly baited into “official” status by Daisy! Ryan just goes along with everything to a degree, he’s always been a bit of a hapless chap – he’s a bit ignorant to how it’s all gone down. But he is attracted to Daisy, so he’s trying to get what he can from the situation.
Soon, Daisy is lining up her next target in Daniel! How does Ryan feel when he sees them flirting?
He does feel a pang of jealousy, but I think Ryan struggles to see what’s really going on. He’s convinced that everything’s going to be okay between them. So while he’s a bit concerned, I don’t think he’s too wary of Daniel.
Is there any chance of a reunion for Ryan and Alya?
He has that sliver of hope, but he’s not holding his breath. He thinks Alya hates him after what he’s done! Though while he doesn’t see a way back, he’s still in love with her, so he can’t help but dream that it will happen…
Who do you think Ryan is better suited to – Alya or Daisy?
It has to be Alya – she keeps him on the straight and narrow! As he and Daisy are getting to know each other, they’re finding the inevitable potholes, whereas Ryan and Alya had found themselves, together. He wanted to invest in their future. That’s where his heart really is.
Things are seeming a bit bleak for Ryan right now – will things start looking up for him soon?
It doesn’t look like it, I tell you! He has no family, no home, his DJing is going nowhere, so I don’t know if there’s any light on the horizon for him. I can say that there’s a brief moment between him and a family member that gives him a glimmer of hope – although that’s about it!
