I developed a problem with walking which meant that I couldn't get very far at all without needing a rest; it also meant that I would quickly lose my balance doing the simplest of things, such as bending down to pick something up.

After a year of seeing various doctors I was lucky enough to be referred to a consultant at Addenbrooke's, who diagnosed Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. Within a month I had been operated on for a shunt and in no time at all everything was back to normal and I got back on with my life.

It's comforting to know that ASBAH are there to help me when I need it
